The voice of the trucking industry
NorthRoute Transport Alliance brings together for-hire carriers, private fleets, owner-operators, equipment and service suppliers, and logistics providers. Our members range from single-truck operators to fleets with thousands of units.
We represent their interests with governments, develop safety and training programs, publish industry research, and create opportunities for members to connect and do business together.

Our history
Six decades on the road
From a handful of carriers meeting to share concerns, we have grown into a national organization that speaks for the whole industry.
- 1964Founded by a group of regional carriers to represent trucking in policy discussions.
- 1988Launched our first national driver safety and training program.
- 2005Opened membership to suppliers, logistics firms and service providers.
- 2017Supported the industry’s move to electronic logging devices.
- 2024Launched our sustainability and low-emission fleet initiative.
